Hands down one of the best books I've read this year. Not only is the voice amazing, the twists kept my heart racing (that is, when it wasn't wrenched from my body). Highly recommended for a thoroughly entertaining look at first love, cereal, and what it means to be a friend.
Time traveling and romance are two genres I like but never fully felt represented in, until now. Seeing blerdy Jack and Kate warmed this blerd’s heart and filled me with nostalgia of my own experience in High School, minus the time traveling. This book is about appreciating the best things in your life and learning not to take them for granted and I think that’s a valuable lesson to be learned.
This is a great read. The story is entertaining, witty, and does a great job of telling the tale of love.I recommend this as a read for young adults and older. Check it out!
This book was absolutely amazing. It takes you on an adventure of a lifetime in just under 500 pages. Time travel? Friendship? Romance? What more do you need? BUY IT NOW.
I'm actually not a huge time travel fan, so I didn't know what to expect when I picked this book up, and OH WOW! I adored it! I loved the main character and how open and honest he was. And how REAL he was. He was flawed and he knew it, and he acted exactly how most of would. What an impossible situation to be in. To love someone and want to save them, and feel you can, and know that NO one is going to believe you if you try to tell them you're reliving a time line. I loved that as much as I thought I could guess what was going to happen, I was always wrong. It meant a lot to me that this was a love story with people of color, and yet, that fact wasn't the story. It was just who they happened to be. Part of any great love story is the meet cute, and with this book, we get to live the meet cute, more than once which was clever and so well done. Justin Reynolds is definitely one to watch out for.

Opposite of Always is an emotional and tender glimpse at Jack's quest for love, friendship, and family. Reynolds writes this delicious tension between not knowing how Jack's six months will turn out - will he have his happy ending and what does that mean for Jack? Because as Jack keeps going back to that same moment, he has to choose what exactly his happy ending would be.
This book was not even on my radar but it should have been. It had a synopsis that was right up my alley! I enjoyed every second, and then every repeated second of this book.It is hard to find a book where you absolutely adore every character but Reynolds manages to do so with ease. Jack King is the perfect hero, perfect friend, perfect boyfriend - simply because of all of his imperfections! Through every plot twist and every different outcome you want each character to get a happy ending.I have nothing but praise for this book. So much so that I have decided to hunt down Reynolds other work, Departures. I look forward to reading much more from this author in the near future.I would recommend this book to fans of Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon & Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell.
Hands down I loved the writing. Smooth. The story was cute. Likable characters. A quick read with many truisms. I’m not good at book reports. My idea of a review is I liked it or I didn’t. I liked this book.
