What an amazing ride Jillian Dodd took us on in Spy Girl! I fell in love with the story, the characters, and all the plot twists.X, aka, Huntley is in secret spy school after the deaths of her parents eight years ago. She's at the top of her class, and is shocked to find out she has her first real mission. Her mission? Protect the prince of Montrovia and figure out who is behind the attempts on his life.Huntley and her "brother" Ari, work great together to build their story, meet the right people that will help them get near the prince, but she never expected to start to have feelings for both Daniel (the vice presidents son) and Lorenzo (the prince). She knows feelings can hurt the mission, and she never expected to see Daniel again after their night together, so she puts all her focus on Lorenzo. The chemistry between these two is subdued, yet perfect. You can tell there is an attraction between the prince and Huntley but things never get past the flirting and fun together. The chemistry between Daniel and Huntley though? It's over the top sexy and I adored them together, even though there is something about Daniel I don't fully trust. This book has so much going on, but it's written in a way that you never get lost. So many twists and turns, and I was going back and forth the entire time on who Huntley could trust and who she couldn't. I loved that about this book, up until the end I had no clue who truly was behind the assassination attempts on Lorenzo, and I was a little shocked when we found out who it was. With all the twists and turns in this book, the epilogue ended up giving me more questions than answers, so I am definitely looking forward to seeing where Spy Girl (Huntley) is taken for her next mission in Assassin! If you're looking for a well written book that has some characters you can't help but love, and many twists and turns, I highly suggest picking up a copy of Spy Girl today!

I'm writing this after returning to buy the rest of the series -- what higher recommendation is there?I'm really enjoying these books! There's a nice tight prose style, the shifts in POV are pretty seamless, the protagonist is genuinely interesting and likable, though by definition not a normal girl, the settings are fun -- lifestyles of the billionaire class, but it's all just part of a cover. The plot has a fast-moving surface story, and a slow-moving sub rosa story -- not always a good thing, but here very interesting.I usually read the negative reviews before I download a book, even a freebie, and the ones for this book were all about how it had way too much sex, and that the heroine was nothing but a nymphomaniac. I don't agree on either point -- this heroine was trained/raised to regard sex as just another form of exercise, but in this book it starts to have an emotional component for her, and she reacts by getting careful. And the sex there is is tastefully done -- no wallowing, nothing especially graphic, and generally handled by a tactful skipping-over.I can't abide most of the porn-ish end of the Romance pool -- for one thing, it really interrupts a story,, and for another, for me it's always TMI. But in this book, what there is does not get in the way of the story, is not smut, and is an integral part of the heroine's peculiar background and her growth during the book. These reviews must have come from the people who seem to rate books first and foremost by how "Christian" they are.

It's about time we have an up and coming female Jane Bondish type female spy character. Loved it so much I HAD to read the 2nd book. Well worth your time to enjoy this new series!

I really wanted to finish reading this book, but couldn't get past the 18 year old having sex with whomever whenever idea. I liked the idea of the book (mystery, romance, action), but constant talk of getting a guy/girl into bed got in the way for me. I realized by chapter 4 that this would be the theme and couldn't bring myself to finish it, regardless of my curiosity. Some people are okay with that, but some aren't. Hence the review. It just took too much away from the main plot for me.

Wow, this little beauty stunned me. When I began reading this I wasn’t expecting be left in complete awe of this ladies work. Seriously, just wow.A secret agent with a mission to get close to the prince and protect him. Her first mission and she’ll do everything in her power to succeed. Teaming up with another agent they go undercover as sister and brother to try and solve the mystery of the assassination attempts on the prince and along the way they uncover a few hidden secrets and get in to a whole lot of trouble. This is the very first book I’ve ever read that’s included a spy, I absolutely loved the James Bond and Mission Impossible mixture for the spy name, very clever. The life of a spy seems so intense and fun, something I’d never be able to do. You can see how this author loves spies. This is my first read by this author and really hope I’m able to read the next books in the series. I’m eager to see what she’ll do when she comes face to face with that man. Brilliant story and characters, they blew my mind, just perfect.

This book is marketed to the fans of the Hunger Games—making its target high schoolers. But the amount of sex, and the cavalier attitude of the main character toward sex (plus the fact that she wants to jump just about every attractive guy out there), is way too much for a young adult book.Couldn’t finish it, partly because as others have said, everything happens too easily. It’s a young writing style with mature themes. And it was so promising. Ugh.

Spy Girl is another (DUH!) great book by the fabulous Jillian Dodd. It's pretty quick moving, plenty of hot guys, great storyline that leaves you wanting more! My only complaint (and almost always is w/every JD book) is that I want more!! I want to know more about Huntley and more about her parents. I love that Jillian writes characters that I want to hang out with and be BFFs! Can't wait for more Jillian
